Welcome
Looking for information on Lower Milford Township? What is the Township government up to? Need to find a phone number or information on local stores or events? Interested in history of the region? Want to discuss issues in the Township? You might be able to find it here!. Lower Milford Township is unique. It is primarily agricultural but is also a bedroom community. It has a rural feeling but is just 10-15 miles from Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton, 50 miles or so from Philadelphia, and 80 miles from New York City. One can relax in the country but can enjoy all the excitement of big city living.
However, this great environment is constantly being assailed. We believe that large development is a detriment to our quality of life. To protect this wonderful atmosphere for the next generations, we need to be aware of potential changes that can be detrimental. Knowledge is power. Hopefully, this site can help in keeping citizens aware and involved.
In addition to factual information and analysis, we have started a blog, with a slightly irreverent slant, aimed at the job the Township and School District is doing, a discussion of various issues affecting the residents and other musings -- “just for fun”. Just an Opinion is a good place to smile at the quirks of our Township as well as serious discuss issues. Take time to comment, argue, and write posts to Just an Opinion. It is time to generate community pride!

Gerryville Materials to Pump over 340,000 gallons/day Water Out of AquifersAt the Curative amendment Hearing on June 30, 2009, Mr. Ross, the consultant for Gerryville Materials, indicated that they intended to pump over 340,000 gallons/day of water from the site. Because of the quality of the Hosensack stream, they did not want to put it in as a point source. Rather, they will infiltrate the water back into the ground through a series of perforated pipes. This technology has never been employed in a quarry type setting before. Last Updated ( Friday, 03 July 2009 11:32 ) |
