Description

Ye Kountry CupboardYe Kountry Kupboard is housed in a historic building built in 1901 that has served as a convenience store for over a century. This tradition is being well maintained. It is a general convenience and grocery store. But it excels as a deli. Fresh meats and cheeses from Dietz and Watson, Shurfine , Hatfield and Land O Lakes, bread and rolls from Sunrise Bakery, Brooklyn, NY, milk and iced teas from Rosenberger’s Dairies, and ice cream from Hersheys. It also has some great homemade salads. The potato salad made by the proprietor's mother is self-described as the best in the Valley. Having tried it, it is very good but to preserve peace at home, I will not say it is he best. The also make a large variety of hoagies and sandwiches which are worth trying.

The store carries local and New York and Philadelphia papers. Sunday morning is special in the large selection of premium donuts and coffee rolls that they bring in from a local bakery.

Visiting the Ye Kountry Kupboard is an experience. Pre holiday contests for kids, specials seem to always be part of the ambience of the store. You often find locals sitting around a small table discussing the various ongoings in the community. And the service is outstanding and friendly.

The Ye Kountry Kupboard has recently undergone an exterior paint job. The color scheme is distinctive to say the least. Sini, the owner, says it is because he wants to be seen from space! That has become true as the evedence below shows.
